39:56I’m voting no on Intro 55A. The requirement to post signage in city buildings including schools promoting sanctuary city policies is inappropriate and politicizes the immigration enforcement.Vickie PaladinoCouncil member · New York City Council · Jun 11, 2026Open the meeting at 39:56

30:13Shelters and homelessnessCode Blue weather emergency notice is issued when the temperature drops to 32 degrees Fahrenheit or less between 4 PM and 8 AM, which we’ve had a lot of unfortunately. No one experiencing homelessness who seeks shelter during a Code Blue in New York City can be denied.

23:42Shelters and homelessnessI’m going to pull a Tiffany Caban and stand up. Today’s settlement— see, she even shows me how— today’s settlement, the fiscal year ‘27 budget, and this legislation represent a historic agreement that will finally expand housing vouchers for New Yorkers facing homelessness.

Rikers and city jails: 93 local news articles in 12 months, and 17 meetings that took it up.
Articles we found in New York's local outlets, Oct 24, 2025 – Oct 23, 2026 · meetings transcribed through Oct 8, 2026, where an official raised the issue, or where the topic was on the agenda · counts of articles we found, not all coverage
* At least: Counted at the bodies with transcribed topics; not counted: NYCHA Board, Board of Health (and DOHMH public hearings), Committee on Standards and Ethics (15 meetings).
How we count
We searched each city's local outlets month by month for each issue and topic. An article counts when two AI readers agree it is about that issue in the city's government, and a third read a sample of what they kept. Paywalled outlets and some papers show fewer pages, so these are the articles we found. More on how we know
