2028 OlympicsJenny ChavezMember · Board of Public Works · Apr 17, 2026 · 2:30:39The problem here is that the city, as part of our agreement, is the financial backstop for the game. So what we are also financially invested— if LA28 runs a deficit exceeding $540 million, you know who’s on the hook?Open the meeting at 2:30:39
“And, and so at some point there will be another funding report. When is that— when is that coming? When do you expect that to come before this board?”Jenny ChavezMember · Board of Public Works · Sep 23, 2026 · 1:13:59“Can you clarify for me? I understand this is— we are approving 4 different contracts for 5 years, 2 5-year renewals with a 6-month extension for up to 15.5 years. Um, there’s a $14 million amount here that’s across all 4 contracts, correct?”Jenny ChavezMember · Board of Public Works · Jun 24, 2026 · 2:21:06“So I know that this contract has expired and we opted not to go on the month-to-month, that we’re in this like bridge period. Can you explain the rationale for that?”Jenny ChavezMember · Board of Public Works · Aug 28, 2026 · 39:59“I see that this is a renewal of a previous 5-year agreement. Just curious, what, what did the prior term achieve in terms of TMDL?”Jenny ChavezMember · Board of Public Works · Aug 12, 2026 · 1:34:31“I bet you there are near these locations. Um, and so just have a better coordinated, um, method of addressing some of these issues, because as you said, there might be graffiti and vandalism happening at that local shelter, but I guarantee you there’s other activity happening in that area.”Jenny ChavezMember · Board of Public Works · Feb 4, 2026 · 1:17:35

How we identify who is speaking · blind check, pooled across five cities: of 340 commission lines drawn, 260 right, 4 wrong, 1 unclear, 75 couldn’t be judged

We identified Chavez’s voice at 48 meetings. A meeting missing here means we couldn’t attribute the voice, not that Chavez was absent. Claude and Gemini each read every transcript with that day’s roster. A voice gets Jenny Chavez’s name only when both agree and a code check finds the name said on, or just before, their turn. Voices our transcripts merge with someone else’s are never attributed, so every count here undercounts what Chavez said. For commissions, of 340 lines drawn, 260 were right, 4 wrong and 1 unclear, and the checkers couldn’t judge 75. We have since removed the voices behind 64 of those lines (3 wrong, 0 unclear, the rest we had already held for other reasons). Of the 276 lines we still publish, the checkers could judge 228: 226 right, 1 wrong and 1 unclear (90% lower bound 0.97). They couldn’t judge the other 48. The check is one sample pooled across the five cities, not of Chavez or of Los Angeles alone.
