Homelessness“That is Aisha Wahab’s bill, the Keeping Californians Housed Act of 2026. The best way to prevent homelessness is to prevent people from being homeless.”Myrna MelgarSupervisor · Board of Supervisors · May 12, 2026 · 2:33:08Play at 2:33:08
Waymo and robotaxis“This union and the leadership you’ve exercised on Joint Council 7. I think the challenges we’re facing right now in transportation with the rise of AV technology presents a real serious threat to the workers and how we are doing things.”Myrna MelgarSupervisor · Board of Supervisors · Sep 22, 2026 · 52:53Play at 52:53
Artificial intelligence“I don’t know if that’s a phrase. Our code has become convoluted over time, and it requires regular cleanup of obsolete sections, redundancies, purging of sections that are no longer useful. And I want to be clear that I do think that that’s an appropriate use of AI.”Myrna MelgarSupervisor · Board of Supervisors · Jul 14, 2026 · 29:28Play at 29:28
Family zoning and upzoning“I supported the family zoning plan because the Westside has fought building affordable housing for decades.”Myrna MelgarMember · Land Use and Transportation Committee · Jun 8, 2026 · 1:59:04Play at 1:59:04
Waymo and robotaxis“What I’m most worried about actually is liability to the city in case of an unplanned event. So for a planned event, I think that there’s some things that we can do that we’ve talked about, like geofencing, coming up with some agreement for where things get— you know, AVs can go and not go.”Myrna MelgarSupervisor · San Francisco County Transportation Authority Board · Jul 14, 2026 · 19:07Play at 19:07
“In the event it were a Waymo that was disabled that needed to be be towed, would you then pass on the cost to Waymo? Is that part of your deal or your understanding?”Myrna MelgarMember · Land Use and Transportation Committee · Mar 2, 2026 · 2:05:15Play at 2:05:15
“This month, as we have unveiled, you know, a women’s agenda in our city, there are no more important building blocks in that agenda than housing, than a shelter over people’s heads that leads to security and safety and success for themselves and their families.”Myrna MelgarSupervisor · Board of Supervisors · Mar 24, 2026 · 1:06:21Play at 1:06:21

How we identify who is speaking · blind check, pooled across five cities: of 410 council lines drawn, 352 right, 0 wrong, 1 unclear, 57 couldn’t be judged

We identified Melgar’s voice at 87 meetings across four bodies. A meeting missing here means we couldn’t attribute the voice, not that Melgar was absent. Claude and Gemini each read every transcript with that day’s roster. A voice gets Myrna Melgar’s name only when both agree and a code check finds the name said on, or just before, their turn. Voices our transcripts merge with someone else’s are never attributed, so every count here undercounts what Melgar said. For councils and their committees, of 410 lines drawn, 352 were right, 0 wrong and 1 unclear, and the checkers couldn’t judge 57. We have since removed the voices behind 110 of those lines (0 wrong, 1 unclear, the rest we had already held for other reasons). Of the 300 lines we still publish, the checkers could judge 268: all 268 right (90% lower bound 0.99). They couldn’t judge the other 32. The check is one sample pooled across the five cities, not of Melgar or of San Francisco alone.
